Where my smiles come from

As I sit here at the library studying for my two big tests next week, I realized it is November. I don't know what it is lately, but I have been feeling less grateful than I should. So to start off November, I am going to post one thing each day that I am thankful for (maybe more if I am feeling ambitious!).

Today, I am grateful for my husband. I know that this is the obvious thing, but I really am. I have found the PERFECT guy for me. For instance... I hate watching sports. I couldn't think of a worse thing to do. Luckily, J hates watching sports almost as much as I do. J is always doing stuff for me like washing the dishes, making me breakfast, billing my water bottles. He is always willing to listen to whatever rant I am going on about and he is one of the silliest guys I know! He makes my days happy and I love him more than words can describe!

Leg spreadin for Halloween?

As most of you know, I am in Anatomy for my physical therapy degree. In anatomy we are dissecting cadavers to better learn the anatomy. Our group is pretty funny and we love to work fast. We know our cadaver was funny too because she has an "F* You" tat on her buttocks. Well to start off the Halloweeny activities, we had to dissect the "cotch". Here we are, a group of 6 with 2 boys, and all the girls back up with their hands in the air. The boys waste no time and grab the tools and dig in. Let's just say... nothin will scare me after seeing two legs sticking up in the air!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Our night will most likely consist of watching Psych... because that's as scary as we go!

Catch up

Jordan and I have been enjoying Pocatello a lot. We have rediscovered our love of the outdoors. Now that it is finally cooling down we can actually get outside. Sometimes it can still be difficult with school and all, but who goes to school?

We live in a 1 bedroom apt right on campus and we love it. It may be the orange counter tops or the stray cat that comes around, but mostly because we can leave for a 9O'clock class at 8:55 and still be on time.

We have been going mountain biking and rock climbing a lot. I did discover at the beginning of the semester that I am not a kayaker. We rented kayaks from the school and took them up to a little lake just to practice rolling. I was first up. After much whining (mostly from me) I finally got up the courage to roll. I don't know what it is, but when I go under water it's like I turn into a thrasher. I couldn't get back up and then I was sure I was drowning. Jordan calmly always just flipped me back over and made me try again. I don't know why he thinks I would freak out in a life or death situation... I would be fine!

Jordan turned out to be a pro!
We are still having lots of fun with this new place!

New Tent!

Thursday our brand new tent came in the mail! Jordan and I were so excited we wanted to sleep in it right then. Unfortunately we had school the next day and J was staying late studying for his anatomy quiz. Alas, the weekend came... We wanted to sleep outside, but Rexburg decided to bless us with a foot of snow... So, we set it up in our cabin! It fit perfectly! We slept in it all three nights of the weekend and were so sad to take it down on Sunday night. Fortunately, the weather in Rexburg is looking up, with tales of supposed 50 degrees next weekend! WOO! Our mountain bikes will get some use!

First outdoor climbing!

Yesterday, Jordan and I got done with school super early. The sun was shining and we were feeling optimistic. So we went home made a snack and packed up to go climbing on real rocks. We decided to go to Heise to climb. We got out there and the ground was covered in mud from all the melted snow. We got all ready to go and I led the climb. Pretty much it felt like this:

My hands were quite cold. Jordan was a trouper and made it up after I came down and we decided that our outdoor climbing was a little premature for Rexburg. So we went home and had hot chocolate! Yum!

We cannot wait for it to get a little warmer so we can go outside and not come home with near frost bite. Also, Jordan just got a mountain bike and Todd from back home brought it up for us!

Needless to say... We are DYING for summer!

Mike, Danielle, and Jace come to visit!

This past weekend was a long weekend for us. Three days off of school! Jordan and I have been wanting people to come stay with us at our cabin and Danielle and Mike finally took us up on it! They got here late on Friday night. Saturday we took them on a tour of the new buildings on campus, which made me appreciate just how great our school is. Then we went to Craigo's, which by the way has the best salad bar! They didn't have Danielle's favorite dessert... the brownie with ice cream on top. So sad since that's what she was so excited for. We got a cookie monster, which turned out pretty good. We then basically watched movies, hung out, and laughed a lot. It was so fun to have Jace around. It looks like his new favorite uncle is Gin Gin (Jordan). It was so fun having people stay with us for the first time.

New marriage... New blog!

Jordan and I are loving married life. We have discovered that getting out of bed in the mornings is the hardest part of the day. Who wants to get out of the warm blankets when you have personal heater next to you? Not I. Jordan has introduced me to his gourmet macaroni and cheese, which is amazing. We both love salad and could and do have it at every meal. We have already gone through two large bottles of hidden valley ranch along with almost three bags of croutons. We have had a lot of fun hanging out with other couples up here. Many nights spent out late laughing. Our cabin is amazing! We absolutely love it and are already sad we have to leave in July for my school. We keep the heat pretty cold, like 68, but we have lots of blankets so its great! The shower is hilarious... Jordan is too tall so he has to crouch down in it, but he is a good sport and loves the place anyway. We are trying to stay up with school and get things figured out for next fall. I got into physical therapy school at ISU. We have decided to move down to Pocatello and have Jordan finish up his undergrad while I get my degree and then I can work while we put him through chiropractic school. We have many fun things planned for the future, but for now we are loving life and getting used to school together.
