Jordan when we got on the boat and were touring
It was still really cold in New Orleans but we were so excited to be there!
Bridge over the Mississippi. This river is HUGE! haha while flying to New Orleans Jordan said the Mississippi River was 22 miles wide! Not quite, but still HUGE!
New Orleans from the ship! Our hotel was one of those buildings back there!
Enjoying the Ocean view! The water was so blue, like a deep deep blue! I loved it!
Our first stop was in Progresso, Mexico. We decided to risk it and find a tour when we got off the boat. Luckily we found one that took us both for the price of one of us if we had booked with the cruise! We rode a bus for 2 hours to Chichen Itza. It is the biggest Mayan ruins. It was amazing! I can't believe they built all that without machines. We ended up leaving some asian guy because he did not meet back with the group and was no where to be found. Hope he made it home safe in the end... Never found out what happened to him.
Jordan playing the game from El Dorado!
Our Carnival cruise ship... The Elation.
So our second stop was in Cozumel, Mexico. This place is famous for it's beautiful water. We decided we really wanted to try out snorkeling. Our tour guides were so much fun and they let us go to a lot more places than normal. Good thing Jordan spoke Spanish! It was fun to see him communicate with people. I could understand, but not really join in on the conversations. The fish were incredible. I was a little scared of them though.
The fish kept coming really close to me cuz our tour guides would throw tortillas by me. It freaked me out a little when they would brush up against my skin. I guess I have a trust issue with all animals. They are all out to eat me!
Jordan at home with the fish... Mention a shark and he could swim pretty fast!
He said he kept a look out for one the whole time!
After snorkeling we were going to go to the beach, but didn't have quite the time to get down to one so we were wondering around town and found this little juice bar right on the ocean that had hammocks and couches and the most delicious juice.
It was the perfect end to the day to swing in a hammock, drinking a juice, on the ocean, and spend it all with my best friend. We definitely want to go back someday.
We had so much fun on our cruise. It really was such a new experience and we loved it! Thank you to our wonderful in-laws for sending us on this beautiful cruise. We hope next time you are on it with us!
